ADE not recognizing device although device came with adobe reader installed

i have a tablet that came with adobe reader installed, and i have authorized my ade on my laptop, i have an adobe ID and have downloaded the books already. the ADE wont read my device and i dont know how else to put the books onto my adobe reader. please help
