ADE not responding in win 10 after connecting my Kobo Aura e-reader

Hello,

 

Since today, I experience problems with ADE. When the borrowed book from the library is downloaded to ADE library and I try to connect my e-reader, ADE becomes unresponsive. If I disconnect the e-reader, it's ok again. I've tried reinstalling, renaming the ADE folder, older versions of ADE and another account.

Nothing works!!

I don't understand, it always worked fine!?

If somebody has other suggestions, please... Now it's unusable.

    Looks like I found a way to copy a downloaded .ascm file in ADE to my e-reader. I just don't use ADE, instead I used file explorer under win 10 to copy the file to the e-reader.

     

    Perhaps very obvious for the more experienced users, but for me a revelation!
