ADE refuses a downloaded book

Bought a new computer. Was using ADE 3.0, which is not available anymore. It needs a Microsoft program that is not available anymore. I installed ADE 4.5.12.112. I authorized my computer. I then downloaded a book from Overdrive. I cannot copy it to ADE.

I found ADE a great program for downloading books from my local library, the latest version no longer functions for me or anyone else. I would gladly pay a reasnabl fee for it if Adobe would take the trouble fix the bugs in it to enable it to work on either Windows 10 or 11
