ADE returns books before expiration

I have been successfully using ADE to transfer library books for years.  This weekend, I started getting "Error Dialog- this book has been returned. Loan not on Record" as soon as I transfer the book.  I tried multiple books with same result. I talked to library and NOOK and it seems that Adobe has some problem that is making it think the book is expired.  How can I fix this?
