ADE user not activated. Can not open eBooks

One of our Nextbook 8P12  running Android version 4.0.4 using Nook as an eReader can not open ebooks borrowed from our local library. Another identical tablet can open them.  Both devices are activated from the same laptop.  The message when trying to open an ebook is: "Can not open book at this time. User is not activated by ADE."  I have deactivated and reactivated multiple times with no success.  I would welcomed any suggestions to solve this problem.
