ADE won't open

ADE won't open.  ADE shows in the system tray (Windows 10) after downloading a book from the library, and hovering over the system tray shows that the book is loaded, but it won't open in a full window. The book is found in the My Digital editions folder, so I know it has been downloaded, but I can't read it since I can't get the ADE window to show.

I have tried the following: delete my digital editions folder (entirely), uninstalling ade, rebooting and re-installing. Still have the same problem.
