ADE wont authorize computer

MacBookPro (2008)

OS 10.9.5 here,

Got a Adobe ID.

Dowloaded ADE 4.5.10 and installed it.

Now I can read ebooks on my Kobo eReader and MacBook Pro ok but not able to authorize computer.

help > authorize computer

help > erase authorization

help > authorization information

are all greyed.

How to fix this ?
