Adobe D.E. Command Response

Hi,

I downloaded Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 and when viewing text, any command made does not trigger a response, e.g. whenever I try to scroll down a page or select another page, the program doesn't respond as it should. Only when minimizing, then maximizing the window again, does the selected command trigger a response. 

Any assistance here would be greatly appreciated.
