Adobe digital edition 4.5

Hello I have a mac hair with 4GB ram and MAC OS High Sierra.

When I use Adobe digital edition ( , reading a book (*.acsm) the system gets slower, so that I have to close

adobe digital edition every 4 o 5 minutes and open it again

Can you help me
