Adobe Digital Edition

Hi, I downloaded an e-text from Cognella which required me to download adobe digital edition onto my laptop. The book and adobe worked for about a week. I was in the middle of taking a quiz with the book and my computer began to update. After the update on my laptop, I could no longer open the adobe digital edition app or my e-text. I am hoping you can help me with this because I need this for my class.
