Adobe Digital Edition - Connection Error

On Adobe Digital Editions when my students try to activate their PC computer they are receiving a Connection Error.

We have uninstalled the software, restarted the computer and then re-installed the software same error message.

The students are running XP Professional on their PC.

Any help would be appreciated!

I have the same problem with Vista. There are already a lot of posts about this problem but Adobe does not react at all. So frustrating
