Adobe digital edition crashed after I downloaded a book

I bought a book off Khalari and downloaded it onto editions, as soon as I tried to open the book, editions started giving trouble. Initially I couldn't page through the book and then the program just shut down on its own and I haven't been able to open it again.  I tried uninstalling it and installing it again from a version id saved (this is version 4.0.3) and when that didn't work I tried downloading it again off the internet and installing that but it still gives me the same problem. Can anyone help with this problem, I realise everyone has similar issues but none quite the same as mine as the solutions suggested do not seem to work for my problem. Thank you
