Adobe Digital Edition - de authorize

I had Adobe Digital Editions on my laptop that died this week.  I went to download this application on my desktop so I can borrow ebooks from the library.  When I try to authorize the desktop using my Adobe ID, it says that I am only allowed one authorization using the ID.  It tells me to deauthorize the previous computer.  How do I deauthorize the laptop that is dead and won't turn on so I can use the ID on the desktop???

This only works if I have access to Adobe Digital Editions.  The Adobe Digital Editions is on the laptop that has crashed and I can't get onto it to unauthorize the adobe.
