Adobe Digital Edition: opens personal .epub file - it's an iBook - and shows details and such, but its all blank

I recently purchased an iBook an since i do not own a Mac - I have Windows - I downloaded ADE since it supports .epub. But when it opened in the program, every page in the book was blank; it displayed all the chapters, cover, pages, epilogue blank. I thought I had the wrong type of file, so I tested my theory by opening other iBooks and they all opened with complete pages and covers. Perhaps it was the size of the file but I really don't know what the issue is and why this particular file would not show. Help, please!
