Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.11 memory issues with EPUB files, readable in Firefox

I installed Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.11 and have the issue, that several EPUB files , readable with Firefox EPUBReader extension without any problems, let crash the ADE 4.5.11 (win).

EPUB can be opened in ADE 4.5.11, but when trying to switch the page, ADE 4.5.11 presents black bars and does  not react on any key or mouse handle.

TaskManager shows, that CPU is running with high load and the used memory is growing - it looks as ADE 4.5.11 is running into an infinite loop.

ADE 4.5.11 can not be closed in a normal way, its thread must be killed via TaskManager.

 

Has anyone else such experience?

    Issue is not reproducible anymore after a system reboot.

    So it looks, as if it is mandatory to reboot the system after ADE 4.5.11 before starting reading / importing EPUB files into the library.
