Adobe Digital Editions 4.5.5 Crashing with Windows 10

I installed ADE 4.5.5 on a new laptop with Windows 10 and it keeps crashing.  I was having sporadic issues on my old computer with Windows 10; at least on that version, it would eventually open and let me load books to my Nook.  On the new laptop won't open a book loaded with ADE or let me migrate between menus without crashing.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no difference.

    I think I have a similar issue.

    I have ADE 4.5.5 on a Windows 10 machine.

    It works for a little while and then I get a message saying it has stopped working and have to restart all over again.
