Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 does not recognize my Nook when it opens.

I can download books from the library and open them on my PC, but I can not transfer them to my NOOK.  The NOOK does not open in the Adobe Digital Editions and I can not seem to do anything about it.  So frustrated!

    I have the same issue and I am not sure when it appeared. Also all my books that I had on Nook from the DE disappeared without me deleting them.
