adobe digital editions

I have the new upgraded version of adobe digital aditions, I checked out an ebook from the library and tried to return it early to the library. When i tried to do that it gave me an error message that said unable to return. Error returning item. License server communication problem. E_bad_loan_id. How do i solve this problem
