Adobe digital editions

I'm using a Nook Glow Light Plus and trying to borrow a library book.  When the book appears on my computer which i have connected to my Nook, the computer page will not recognize that my Nook is plugged into it and allow me to drag the book over to the Nook.  Can anyone help?
