Adobe Digital Editions

I've just had to purchase new laptop, and have installed Adobe Digital Editions on new laptop but having trouble opening books copied to new laptop  installed on old laptop, can't remember sign on details created 6 yrs ago, had to sign in with Google account, but not recognised with Adobe ID, can old details be retrieved or is there an easier way to be able to copy, download and open books from old to new? The Google sign in doesn't let me Authorise new laptop as details don't match what was set up on old laptop.
