Adobe digital editions acivtivation server error code:E_ADEPT_INTERNAL

I'm getting this error on a computer that has worked with adobe DE for quite some time. Its been activated. worked a couple of weeks ago.

Tried several books with the same result.

Acer Extensa, windows 10 x64, totally up to date.
