adobe digital editions and kobo

I'm looking for help in transferring books from Adobe Digital Editions to my Kobo. Each time it tells me that the document is protected by Adobe Digital Rights Management even though I've purchased it, downloaded it, got my Adobe ID. Can read the books on my Windows 8 PC but can't get it to my Kobo.

Anyone got any advice?
