Adobe Digital Editions authorization issues

When I try authorizing my computer to open a DRM book I downloaded by entering my Adobe ID and password, I get the error "The vendor account you entered is not associated with the item you are trying to open. Try again." even the book is associated with the account. For more context, I am trying to open the book on a different PC than the one I originally used to download it.
