adobe digital editions - computer authorization problems

hi i am trying to authorize my computer but i keep receiving an error message stating i need to connect to the Internet (FYI i am connected). here is a screen shot of the message i keep getting.

please HELP me someone i am slowly loosing my hair (and yes i have an adobe id and password).
