The customer service from Adobe is useless.  All they want is for your to purchase a product, and then they will offer you assistance....maybe.  ADE doesn't connect with my ereader at all.  The solution is to have an email sent to you with a code, then go to your ereader to manually enter that book.  ADE is terrible.

Hi All, i am having the same issue,

I spoke to Google Help and they were useless trying to say it was to do with my ereader/website I was downloading the ACSM file from (which makes no sense + I was downloading the file from google play books)

I spoke to Adobe Helpdesk and they said that even though their support cant help as ADE is a free product they would let the correct department know internally and see if they can escalate the issue.

After some googling people back in 2015 had this issue which seemed to fix itself the next day so hopefully Adobe is working on it in the background (as its been about 3 days ive had this issue)

Because the book I bought from Google Play yesterday was a bargain ebook I
rebought & downloaded it from Kobo without problem through Adobe Digital
Editions so the suggestion the license at Google Play is at fault could be
right (I don't know anything about license servers and where they
    physically reside etc.)

I haven't had any reply from Google Play to my query to them about the
ongoing inability to download this most recent purchase. Tomorrow I'll
probably ask for a refund even though the purchase price was small. I'm
just concerned about whether I'll have future problems buying books from
them. A previously bought book from them re-downloaded without problem.

I was having this error yesterday as well, but today when I tried it again it was fixed. No workarounds needed. Looks like they fixed whatever the issue was.

Same here, either getting e_lic_connection_problem or e_adept_internal.

Tried everything I could and even tried to talk with customer service. Only answer I got was ADE was discontinued and I should ask on the forums.

It's been like this for three days.

"ADE is discontinued" is untrue. I downloaded the latest version yesterday
to try to fix this problem.
I actually discovered that my current problem is, so far, isolated to only
most recent ebook I bought from Google Play. I bought the *same *bargain $2
ebook from another seller also offering it and it downloaded without
trouble, also via ADE, the most up-to-date version. I also tested
re-downloading a previous ebook bought from Google Play and that one also
    downloaded without trouble.

Nevertheless, I thought the problem was systemic/all titles because I've
had similar problems with ADE refusing to download books in the past,
whether I was borrowing them from my library or buying them, and that was
always ixed by de-authorizing and re-authorizing ADE. At times I have had
to do so by editing by Windows Registry which is a terrible thing to force
end users to be doing. In my estimation Adobe is falling down on the job
badly vis-a-vis ADE. People are relying on their software to access EPUB
ebooks; they have no support for it and it's not working the way it's
    supposed to.

I am getting the error message with my Google Play ebook just purchased.
"Error getting license. license server communication problem: e_lic_connection_problem"
I have tried all the online suggestions about deauthorizing and reauthorizing my computer and none of this is working. I last bought an ebook Aug 15 and didn't have this problem then. I just tried checking out a library ebook and that worked. I have the same email address on the library as in the ADE main email address. I do have the email address in the Google account as my secondary email address in my Adobe profile.
I tried installing the latest ADE and this didn't fix it either.

Looks like it's a server issue then. Still can't get the license activated on my latest e-book. Few weeks ago it was working without problems.

I'm having the same issue. I was able to download a book on the August 17th, but then I added another book today (20th), and I get the error. Looks like it's an issue on their server(?). I'm going to wait 24 hours and try again.
