Adobe Digital Editions - Limited Functionality

I have downloaded Adobe Digital Editions on my Windows tablet, (operating on Windows 8.1). When I try and use my ebooks, the functionality that is available when using my computer, is not available on the tablet, (e.g. highlight, add note, copy). Are there limitations when using ADE on a Windows tablet? If so, are there any suggested ereader apps that would be more suitable, that will accept an Adobe log in?
