Adobe Digital Editions ... "Not Responding"

I have a KObo Glo.  Using Windows 10 & Adobe Digital Editions Ver.4.5 to downloading ebooks from our library and transferring them to my Kobo has been working great.  Now I keep getting "Copy Not Responding" and "Adobe Digital Editions Not Responding"  I have uninstalled and reinstalled older versions of Adobe and keep getting the same ERROR message???   Need help Please.  Frustrated.
