Adobe Digital Editions on Mac El Capitan

Having trouble downloading Adobe Digital Editions 4.0 onto my Mac running El Capitan version 10.11.1. I've tried using Firefox and Safari with nothing working. The software installer keeps freezing during the verification process. Any ideas?

    Have similar issues. What ever I do, ADE 4.5 freezes. Has to be force quit.

    Under El Capitan 10.11.3 with a user with admin permissions, El Capitan was just freshly installed to a formatted drive (was no update from a previous OS)

    Does not work with either 4.5 and El Capitan 10.11.3
