adobe digital editions quits when trying to download a book from library

Hello everyone with a kobo aura water- ADE quits unexpectedly- I have tried everything over and over and over again. I have talked to KOBO, Mac computers and the library people and no one has been able to help.  As for Adobe, other that this forum, they will not help you. I think its a software issue that KOBO needs to address but they don't seem to want to do that.
