ADOBE DIGITAL EDITIONS - SUDDENLY NOT WORKING

I am at my PC and am trying to load up a library book.  Normally this works well with ADE 3.0 but at the moment, and last night, it does not seem to be functioning at all.  Zip.  Last night I couldn't even shut it down normally.  Is anyone else having issues, or just me?  Also, if I have to remove ADE and put it back, do I need to do the whole authorization thing all over again?  I have instructions for that but they are a mile long.  HELP!

    this is happening to me as well.  I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling ADE 3.0.  My Kobo doesn't work with newer editions than 3.0 so I am at a loss.

    Did this happen just in the last few days? I am trying to get help from
    the Kobo chatline, but their suggestions are not helping or even making
    sense. Now they are going to email me with their solutions. I am so mixed
    up. I have an old Adobe ID with an old email address, I thought I had
    changed it and it keeps popping up. It has become such a complicated
    puzzle. There seems to be no way to get a person to talk to at Adobe. My
    problems do not seem to exist in their help section.
