Adobe: Digital Editions temporary files (library)/maintaining notes.

With Adobe: Digital Editions, I often am viewing a lent/library edition (which expires after 3 or 7 days depending). As a student, the notes that I save are important for my homework, however, every time that the book expires, my notes expire with it. Is there a way to save that data, or at least keep it accessible for when the permissions are renewed? Thanks.
