Adobe digital editions won't load the epub book into it in epub form so I can read it

I just download the newest version of aDE and deleted the old version.  When i try to download an Epub from Omni libraries, it does not load the epub as a book, but opens a file box on my computer. Do I need to reauthorize the ADE and what is the process to do so.
