Adobe will not open a borrowed book from the public library

I have authorized my computer and ereader, adobe freezes when I down load a book   How do i get adobe to open these books

    I had a similar problem. The retailer told me to take my Kobo to the local library. They helped me there. Seems that my books were on my computer under document files. I had to go to "open file with" and change it to Adobe Digital Editions. This has worked for me.
