Adode ADE access

I have a number of ebooks locked with ADE DRM.  When I purchased them I had a different email address. I now want to open them again (have them downloaded to my PC) but I no longer have the old ADE account password, nor do I have the original email address associated with that account.  Gone around in circles with Adobe chat trying to get them to send password reset to a different email address to that on the account. Tried using Adobe Account Access (for mobile) but that too needs original account password when setting up.

Any suggestions as to how to get into the "old" account when I cannot access the password reset emails sent via the Adobe process ???
