Advertising pop-ups.

I had an Adobe up-grade pop-up. Clicked it to up-grade. Now I have all these 10 or 15 different advertisements tjat pop-up. The don't show on my Windows Task Manager so I have to wait for enough to pop-up to "Close Group" to get rid of them. They show as folders in my task bar and won't delete.

They are annoying because they aren't ads for anything I want to see and they override whatever I'm doing on my computer. There's no X to delete them. I've run my virus program but that doesn't get rid of them either.

Is anyone else having this problem or suggestions on how to get rid of them?
