always freezes running under Windows 10 - any fix?

I've uninstalled DE and reinstalled 4.5.10 after all the usual tricks (like returning a book, deleting the .acm file, etc..) failed.

I can't read any ebook - period.

The program is now completely useless to me, and obviously, to other Windows 10 users.

It needs to be fixed - or my library needs to switch to a digital reader that actually works with the latest version of Windows.
