Authorisation problem. Help!

I just downloaded Adobe Digital Editions to my computer and added my book purchase. I accidentally authorised my computer without an ID. Now I find I can't transfer my book to my IPad because Adobe won't recognise my ID. I did try to authorise my computer with an ID bu it makes no difference. Help!
