'authorise you computer'

Trying to authorise ADE after first purchase of eBook.

I logged in to Adobe but did not receive an ID - just redirected to a Cloud ad.

Now, on the 'authorise your computer' box, it is asking for 'Adobe ID'. What is this?

I've tried the login used for Adobe but its being rejected.

OK.  Turns out your ID is your email address...   

Why did it say its sent via email??? (Which i discovered when i got home.) 

I seem to have inadvertantly become connected to 'Cloud Creative'. Hope I'm not going to get ads from this now. I only want to read my books online, that's all.
