Authorising my new Kobo Clare ereader

How do I authorise my new ereader with Adobe Digital Editions. When I go into ADE and to Authorise information it says computer already authorised. also I tried to download ADE ver. 4.5 the error came back with "this installer requires adminstrative access - abort"
