Authorization Kobo HD Glo e-reader in Adobe Digital Editions

After I bought my first e-reader (Kobo HD Glo) I got an Adobe ID and installed Adobe Digital Editions. To be able to read my e-books I authorized my laptop and that worked. What I did not do, was authorizing my e-reader too... Instructions tell me I have to link the e-reader to the laptop, start Adobe Digital Editions. and go to 'Library'. It should find my device but it does not. Normally you can authorize it there.

Can anyone give me good advice about this problem? Thanx!
