Authorizing Adobe Digital Edition 4.5

hello,

i have installed the adobe DE 4.5 on my pc but everytime i try to authorize it with my adobe ID it keeps on telling me 'cannot connect to server'. i have restarted my pc and even allowed firewall access but the problem persists. Any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks
