Authorizing adobe digital editions

Hello,

My previous laptop had a book I often referenced via adobe digital editions. That laptop crashed and I transferred all data to my new laptop. I am trying to authorize adobe digital editions for my new laptop, but it is taking forever. I have a pop up screen with a message reading "authorizing" and green bar
running side to side as if it is processing something. This goes on continuously. Please help.
