Authorizing KOBO touch

I just installed ADE on my computer to use with my KOBO touch. when I open ADE my device is showing but when I try to authorize it I can't because all the options in the drop down box are "greyed out". Any suggestions how I can authorize so I can read the books in my library on my KOBO?
