Being denied permission to copy my ebooks to Kobo reader device

I'm unable to copy my eBooks in Digital Editions to my Kobo reader device except for the "Getting started..." publication. I get an error of "CE_COPY_NOT_ALLOWED - No permission to copy the book".  The device is authorized, and I legally own and purchased the books.

Is there a configuration setting I need to change? Or what else can I do to solve this permission issue?
