Bluegrandma needs help!

After working well for a few months, my kobo glo suddently stopped working with ADE.  I download books from my local library into ADE on my laptop, I plugged the kobo in and connected it, but after many tries and reboots, the ADE library will still not recognize my KOBO as a device. 

Oh, it shows up to the party, but it won't open and when I right click on the book I want to move to my kobo, the "kobo ereader device" box is faded out and unusable.

I'm not tech savy, so please if you can help me, make it simple?
