Book download cannot be finished, Adobe Digital Edition freezes and must be shut down with Task Manager?

Book download from library cannot be finished, the Digital Edition " Freezes" and have to be shut down with the Task Manager every time. I have updated the program, but nothing helps. I am registered since 3 years and had no problems so far. Since one week nothing works anymore. Does somebody can help? Thank you
