Bookmarks and Highlighted Text Disappear When eBook Reopened

Every time I reopen a book in ADE, all of the previous bookmarks, notes, and highlighted text are gone.  This is VERY frustrating since I mark those areas that I will want to refer to in a book I'm researching.  I even tried to print the eBook so I could mark the text on a printed page that I need to reference, but the eBook won't print.
