Books no longer upload to ADE after upgrade?

I recently upgraded from ADE 4.0 to 4.5. Now, when I try to download a library book, it dowloads to my computer as am .acsm file but doesn't open in ADE. So I am unable to download it to my Kobo reader. Any idea what is going on?

    Open Digital Edition. Go to File > Add to Library. Choose the eBook.

    Computer asks what program to use, suggests Adobe Reader, but then says the file can't be opened.

    Previously, when I downloaded the library book as an ePub, it automatically opened in ADE. I tried it with another book, same thing. And only since I upgraded.

    No your system hat choose the standardprogramm for ePub files. Do you used Windows or macintosh?
