Bookshelves not visible

I have a blank screen when I open ADE. I have followed the advice about renaming the folder. It worked the first time, but then everything disappeared again and it won't work now. I can add a EPUB file and it shows but won't sync to Kobo. Then I close ADE  and reopen and it's blank again. If I try to add the EPUB again, ADE says it's already there.

Currently, I use it to borrow library books (Overdrive). I can download (doesn't show), then sync and that works. But I'm now in need of being able to beta-read EPUBs, and I can't see them so I can't sync.

I have uninstalled/installed. Can't find chat anymore.

Also, if I click on Reading tab, it closes ADE. Version 4.5.11.187303.
