Can not connect to activation server

I tried authorizing my computer with my adobe ID but an error message comes up. The authorization bar comes up for a few seconds but then an error message comes up saying "Can not connect to the activation server. Please check that you are connected to the internet."

I am currently connected to the internet and have added Digital Editions 3.0 to my firewall allowed programs. I am using windows 7. I have also tried deauthrorizing my computer by pressing SHIFT+CTRL+D.
